There’s been a lot of talk about MS Office coming to iPad, although Microsoft isn’t saying too much about it. Some screenshots of the Office suite were floating around for a while, but an MS spokesperson denies all claims.
According to Peter Ha from The Daily, the iPad port of Office will include four separate apps; Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote (which is already available), and of course, Word. It seems probable that Microsoft Office will eventually come to the iPad, as it is hands down the most popular personal productivity software available today and although this is a loose rumor, I don’t have very much doubt that the guys at The Daily could have possibly got a sneak peek at it.
The iPad is pretty much the standard for tablets, as is Office for productivity, and (in my opinion) they’re long past due for meeting eachother… I use Word pretty much every day, and love the thought of having all of that word processing power at your fingertips anywhere you can take an iPad.
Will Office be released for iOS in the near future? Who knows for sure, but I’m sure a lot of people are crossing their fingers.

Would love to see this. As much as I enjoy keynote, being able to edit powerpoints and word documents on an iPad pretty much eliminates the need for a netbook imo.

Ha… Yeah; I use keynote for all my presentations as well, and I don’t really use excel or any other Office app so much, but I’ll always choose Word over Pages, and it would be great to have it on an iPad.

Office on any tablet would be awesome, but especially iPad. I’ve been considering looking at a tablet recently, and with the iPad 3 around the corner maybe I’ll get the iPad 2 and I’d definitely pick up Office for it.
