So a few nuggets of information on the iPad. First off, a big hint that the iPad 3 release is near at hand, Best Buy has cut the price of the current iPad 2 models by $50. So the line up starts at $449 for the 16 gb Wi-fi model. Once the iPad 3 is released we should see prices drop even more. The iPad 3 however, could potentially see a price increase, according to one article the cost could go up by $80, due in part to the revamped display. The same article stated that some feel Apple could continue to sell iPad 2 models at a lower price to take sales away from other tablets.
Lastly, is it possible we could see a name change to the popular tablet? Apple is being sued by a chinese company called Proview, due to Apple’s methods of securing the trademark for the iPad. The company is asking for $2 billion, even going so far as to try and stop sales of the device in some area of China.
