According to MacRumors, a 15″ MacBook Air may be in the works. It’s unsure whether or not the source has received new information or is just rehashing on previous rumors, but either way I think it’s a safe bet that a larger screen size certainly wouldn’t hurt. With 11″ and 13″ being the only options available for the Air right now, it almost seems like nothing more than Apple’s take on the netbook, considering that the majority of Mac users are using the machine for graphic, audio, and video editing. I have enough trouble trying to use Logic or Pro Tools with a 15″ screen, so I can’t imagine what that would be like on an 11 or a 13.
If this is in fact a reiteration of the previous rumor, the MacBook Airs may not be the ones getting a larger screen, but it’s possible that the MacBook Pro’s are the ones getting the makeover – with a more sleek and thin Air styled body. That wouldn’t be bad either, and it only makes sense that the Pros are going to get thinner with the next release, as that’s more or less the trend Apple laptops have been following all along.
