Minecraft is the fastest selling title on Xbox Live Arcade to date
In just one short week, literally, one five-day business week , Minecraft sold over 1 million copies in the Xbox Live Arcade. This is by far the fastest selling title that Xbox Live has ever seen – already boasting over 400,000 players on the leaderboards.
Founding father Notch even expressed his awe in the form of a tweet:
Uhhhh, Microsoft just sent out a press release saying Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has sold a million copies in five days. Wow.
Prior to hitting the Xbox 360 platform, Minecraft had been available as both standalone and Web-based clients on Mac, PC and Linux – a lighter, mobile version is also available for iDevices as well as Android handsets.
Two-player split-screen features were introduced with this version of the game, as well as a handful of tweaks and additional features to better integrate it with the 360 console.
